Well, this is it! In less than 24 hours I will be on a plane back to the USA. These 10 months in Finland have truly been an incredible and eye opening experience. Thanks to everyone here for all the great friendships and fantastic adventures I’ve had! None of it would have been possible without my awesome host families. Thank you all so much for hosting me and showing me Finnish life! Näkemiin suomi, nähdään pian!

As for the fate of this blog, I will be continuing to post throughout the summer. There are many more photos from my St. Petersburg trip and I haven’t yet posted photos from Stockholm and Copenhagen, so be on the lookout for those soon!

A gif I made of the eternal flame in St. Petersburg, Russia.
On 6 November 1957 in the center of the Field was lit an Eternal Flame. It was the first in Russia. From here the Flame was delivered to Moscow in 1967 and was placed nearKremlin wall on the Tomb of Unknown Soldier. The Flame from the Field of Mars also burns on Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery and on other memorials in Saint-Petersburg.
